A month back I went to a few villages surrounding Pune. The mandate given to me was to create a documentary story on the social impact of Biosense.
Biosense is a fully indigenous company. Its product range includes Glucometer, first-of-its-kind Anaemia meter, machine to check urine and other such products that can be easily used by ground level healthcare staff to prevent and control noncommunicable diseases. All these products are designed, developed and manufactured in India.
To make this short film, I interacted first hand with many Asha workers (woman community health workers) and with the local Taluka health officer. The biggest takeaway for me was that we need private innovation meshed with primary healthcare infrastructure to improve the delivery and effectiveness of public healthcare.
Take a watch.
