If we as a nation have to achieve SDG # 10 that focuses on reducing inequality we need to transition large masses of people out of poverty towards better opportunities and ultimately a better life. Social entrepreneurship can be a game changer.
Poverty and Inequality have a co-relation in our country. We could address both of them simultaneously if the Government and Social Entrepreneurs work in tandem to bring basic necessities and livelihood opportunities to those at the bottom of the pyramid.
Education is the foundation for wholesome socio-economic development of a nation. At a higher level it needs to transcend the certificate of a degree and focus on employment-oriented learning. At primary and secondary levels it needs to focus on offering universal access and ensuring holistic learning. It’s only then that we can achieve our SDGs. A quick look at a few social enterprises that are contributing towards achieving these goals.
