Social value comprises abstract and qualitative changes within communities occurring over a period of time. It is most potent when thought of as akin to storytelling. A short film is the most powerful way for communicating social value.
I was elated when I got an opportunity to represent the noble work carried out by Manjit Singh at Salaiban at the Social Welfare & Growth Awards (SWAG) 2016 organized by The CSR Journal. Here’s a short video.
When I met him, I was struck by his humility and simple demeanour. Over a period of 3 days I worked, stayed and chatted with him closely at Salaiban, a remote tribal village in northern Maharashtra. This is his story.
